Adding tags to items – ordering books

iFind Reading Lists are used by the Library to identify resources required for the library collection. Academics can recommend purchase of items not currently available in the Library by adding resource details to Reading Lists, tagged either as 'Essential - suggested for purchase' or 'Recommended - suggested for purchase'. These tags are only visible to staff. See the section on 'Ordering books via iFind Reading' for more information. The Library will investigate availability and determine if the item can be purchased in line with budgetary consideration. The Library will purchase e-versions of resources as a default.

Adding tags to items - additional information for your students

Items in iFind Reading can be tagged for your students. You can use available tags such as 'Essential reading', 'Background reading', 'Week-1' etc to guide and manage their reading.

Notes

You can provide additional information by clicking on an item and adding a note

  • Public notes can be viewed by anyone and display beneath the item details on your list.  Students find it very helpful if they know why you have chosen this item, or when in the module that you wish them to read or watch a particular resource.
  • Private notes can only be viewed by yourself.
