Coming on Tuesday 2nd December, The EBSCO database interface is getting a new look. The new design will have improved accessibility features, including better compatibility with screen readers.  

EBSCO databases gives you access to a wide range of content from e-books and articles from journals to conference papers and news articles from leading information providers. EBSCO provides key databases such as CINAHL, Medline and APA PsycINFO. 

Some more key features you can utilise are search results are now organized into tabs, such as "All Results," "Evidence-Based Care Sheets," "Quick Lessons," and "Videos," allowing you to easily navigate through different types of content.  

You can now add up to 12 different search bars in a single advanced search, enhancing the ability to refine searches, and the Natural Language option allows you to type questions or statements, making searches more intuitive. 

 

For anyone who already uses EBSCO and has any saved items, there are a few things to check and prepare for to ensure a smooth transition: 

1. Saved Searches - Any saved searches you have will automatically move to the new interface when you log in. You don’t need to worry about these! 

2. Journal and Search Alerts - Unfortunately, your journal alerts won’t transfer automatically. Before the change, make sure to note down which journals you’ve set alerts for (you can screenshot them or copy and paste them into a document). You’ll need to re-create these alerts once you’re in the new interface. 

3. Custom Folders - If you’ve created custom folders to organize your saved articles, these won’t automatically carry over to the new interface. To keep your articles, please export them before the update. For more details on this process, click here.

Ar ddydd Mawrth 2il o Ragfyr, bydd rhyngwyneb cronfa ddata EBSCO yn cael golwg newydd. Bydd gan y dyluniad newydd nodweddion hygyrchedd gwell, gan gynnwys cydnawsedd gwell â darllenwyr sgrin.

Mae cronfeydd data EBSCO yn rhoi mynediad i chi at ystod eang o gynnwys o e-lyfrau ac erthyglau o gyfnodolion i bapurau cynhadledd ac erthyglau newyddion gan ddarparwyr gwybodaeth blaenllaw. Mae EBSCO yn darparu cronfeydd data allweddol fel CINAHL, Medline ac APA PsycINFO.

Mae rhai nodweddion allweddol eraill y gallwch eu defnyddio yn cynnwys bod canlyniadau chwilio bellach wedi'u trefnu mewn tabiau, fel "Pob Canlyniad," "Taflenni Gofal yn Seiliedig ar Dystiolaeth," "Gwersi Cyflym," a "Fideos," sy'n eich galluogi i lywio'n hawdd trwy wahanol fathau o gynnwys.

Gallwch nawr ychwanegu hyd at 12 bar chwilio gwahanol mewn un chwiliad uwch, gan wella'r gallu i fireinio chwiliadau, ac mae'r opsiwn Iaith Naturiol yn caniatáu ichi deipio cwestiynau neu ddatganiadau, gan wneud chwiliadau'n fwy greddfol.

I unrhyw un sydd eisoes yn defnyddio EBSCO ac sydd ag unrhyw eitemau wedi'u cadw, mae yna ychydig o bethau i'w gwirio a'u paratoi ar eu cyfer i sicrhau trosglwyddiad llyfn:

  1. Chwiliadau wedi'u Cadw - Bydd unrhyw chwiliadau wedi'u cadw sydd gennych yn symud yn awtomatig i'r rhyngwyneb newydd pan fyddwch yn mewngofnodi. Nid oes angen i chi boeni am y rhain!
  2. Rhybuddion Cyfnodolyn a Chwilio - Yn anffodus, ni fydd eich rhybuddion cyfnodolyn yn trosglwyddo'n awtomatig. Cyn y newid, gwnewch yn siŵr eich bod yn nodi pa gyfnodolion rydych wedi gosod rhybuddion ar eu cyfer (gallwch eu sgrinlunio neu eu copïo a'u gludo i ddogfen). Bydd angen i chi ail-greu'r rhybuddion hyn unwaith y byddwch yn y rhyngwyneb newydd.
  3. Ffolderi Personol - Os ydych wedi creu ffolderi personol i drefnu eich erthyglau wedi'u cadw, ni fydd y rhain yn trosglwyddo'n awtomatig i'r rhyngwyneb newydd. I gadw eich erthyglau, allforiwch nhw cyn y diweddariad. Am fwy o fanylion am y broses hon, cliciwch yma.
