Endnote: About EndNote

EndNote (desktop version) is in the Common Apps section on open access computers. If you don't have it on a university machine ask your local technician or request via ISS service desk.

Good news:

The licence now covers use on your own device as long as you are a student or member of staff at Swansea University. To download your own copy of EndNote go to https://myuni.swansea.ac.uk/it-services/software-enquiry/. You will need to login to MyUni with your Swansea University username and password.

EndNote is in the "Other software available section" of the site. Both Windows and MAC versions are available. You do not need a licence code as this has been bundled in the installer so will be entered automatically.

A version of EndNote is available for the Macintosh. A quick guide can be found here.

There is also a free EndNote App for IPADs which will sync with your online library. This can be downloaded from iTunes.

If you are using the desktop version of EndNote you should find a pdf manual installed on your computer. A search for Endnote*.pdf will find it. If not it can be found on the Thomson web site.

There are 2 versions of EndNote available - a desktop version and an online one. The university provides the desktop software free to students but we have information on the online version if you wish to try it.

If the APA 7th style isn't available in your EndNote styles:

Go to https://endnote.com/style_download/apa-7th-american-psychological-association-7th-edition/ and click the download button.

Save the file and open it in EndNote.

Choose File Save as to save in the correct location. If you want to check where it should be in EndNote click Edit - Preferences - Folder locations. Close EndNote and reopen it to pick up the new style.

Click Select another style to find APA 7th.
