What’s happening in the Library this festive season?

Christmas wishes - what would you like from the Library in 2023?

Visit Bay or Singleton Park Library and you will find gift tags to write a Library improvement wish and tie it on the tree. You will also get the opportunity to write a wish list to Santa if you have lots of wishes! In the new year, we’ll let you know what Library users wished for and what we’re going to do to make improvements.

We regularly ask for your input and we always try to turn your requests into concrete improvements. In the libraries there is a list of requests fulfilled, and some requests are still being worked on - so watch this space for further improvements! But remember, if you don’t tell us what you want then we won’t know, so please do give us your feedback.

Vacation Hours

Bay and Singleton Park Libraries will close at 5pm on December 24^th. The libraries will reopen at 8am on December 27^th and remain open 24/7 until 5pm on December 31^st, with the libraries reopening and available 24/7 from 8am on January 2^nd.

Information Desks will be staffed during the vacation except for December 25^th, 26^th & 27^th and January 1^st & 2^nd. Please see our opening hours webpages for full details of all our libraries and services over the vacation.

Christmas Vacation Loans

If you have books or journals out on loan over the holiday period, they will continue to auto-renew.

Laptops are not renewable. Please return any outstanding laptop loans promptly. These will not auto-renew, and fines are £10.00 per day.

We will not recall books or journals during the vacation this year - if your items have not been recalled by Saturday 10 December then they will renew over the vacation.

Even if your item is requested during the vacation, the earliest it could be due back is Tuesday 10 January.
