The university has a range of health and welfare support services, but did you know there’s also some self-help support available in the library? Whether you’re dealing with issues from your past, current difficulties, or just wondering how to cook a meal on your student budget, the library has some books to help! The Wellbeing Collection includes titles on managing stress, anxiety, ADHD, autism, OCD, eating disorders, insomnia, coping with abuse and more. There are also books on handling your finances and a selection of student cookbooks.

The Wellbeing Collection is available to all students and staff. You can find the books in the Cwtsh on the Level 4 mezzanine in Singleton Park Library and in the Wellbeing Corner near the group study pod in Bay Library. There are also e-books available for some titles.

The full list of titles in the Wellbeing Collection is available online. You can:

  • Browse by category
  • Check location and availability of a book by clicking on the title
  • Use the Request function to collect a book from a different Swansea University library
  • Read an ebook by clicking on the link to Full Text

There’s good evidence that bibliotherapy – using books for self-help therapy – can be very effective, so please take a look at the collection if you think you may be affected by any of the issues above.
