The theme for International Women’s Day 2022 is “Breaking the Bias”. To join in the celebration, at the Singleton Park Library we have put on display works by female authors who have sought to overcome prejudice and discrimination in their work. This includes poetry collections by award winning writers Joelle Taylor, Gwyneth Lewis, Gillian Clarke and Hollie NcNish. The display also features short story collections by Alice Walker, Fflur Dafydd and Dorothy Edwards. Works by Rhondda born writer Rachel Trezise, Swansea University Egyptologist Kate Bosse-Griffiths and the seventeenth century writer Margaret Cavendish aka “Mad Madge” are also included.
