Temporary remote access to Read & Write (TextHelp)

The TextHelp Read & Write toolbar includes a text to speech screen reader and advanced spell checker. Please note, whilst Read & Write is usually only available on campus PCs, university staff and students can temporarily use it on personal devices now that library buildings and PC labs are closed. The video below shows you how to access Read & Write remotely.

You will need an access code, which you will find by logging into Blackboard and checking the TextHelp notice on the left.

MindView

MindView is a mind-mapping tool, using a interface similar to Microsoft Office. Video tutorials are also available on the company website.

Please note: Whilst Mindview is usually only available on campus PCs, university staff and students can temporarily use it on personal devices now that library buildings and PC labs are closed. To access the resource remotely you will be able to download a copy of the Mindview software to use with a limited 90 day licence key, which you will find by logging into Blackboard and checking the Mindview notice on the left.

Glean

To help you take notes from online classes over the coming months, Swansea University will provide you with free access to a note taking app called Glean, until the 31st August 2020. You can sign up for Glean and find more information and demo videos on our remote learning pages.
