The Libraries Together Passport allows any current member of Swansea, Neath Port Talbot, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire public library services to have free borrowing access at all public libraries covered by these areas along with free borrowing access at Swansea University, Swansea Metropolitan University, Swansea College, Neath Port Talbot College, Gorseinon College, Pembrokeshire College and Trinity Saint David. Please visit your nearest public library branch and join the library if you are not already a member. Ask for a Libraries Together passport stating which college or Higher Education library you want to join. Take the passport along to your chosen library, and they will register you as a borrower. This scheme is managed by SWAMP (South West And Mid Wales Partnership) and funded by CyMAL (Museums Archives and Libraries Wales).
Swansea University is a member of the SCONUL Access scheme. This allows academic staff, postgraduate research students, full-time postgraduates, part-time, distance learning or placement students toborrow from other HE libraries across the UK who are members of the scheme. This guide explains how you can join the SCONUL Access scheme.
Book Boxes are provided by the Miners’ Library to support students on the Part time degree. Books are selected from the reading lists supplied by tutors, together with additional material if required. They are delivered to the venue and stay there until the end of the academic year. Students can pick books from the box to supplement other material which has proved invaluable, especially for those studying at a distance.
There are a few guidelines which will ensure that the books are used by all students.
If you have any queries about the Book Boxes please contact the Miners’ Library.
