Checklist
  • Town/City where Institution based followed by a comma.
  • Name of Library/Archive/Institution followed by a comma.
  • Collection Name followed by Manuscript/Collection Number (according to the classification system of the repository) followed by a full stop.
  • Use ‘fol.’ instead of ‘f.’ and ‘fols.’ instead of ‘ff.’
  • Use a superscripted ‘r’ for ‘recto’ and a superscripted ‘v’ for ‘verso’.

If consulted online:

  • In angle brackets, Manuscript Unique URL
  • In square brackets, word ’accessed’ followed by Date Accessed (in a dd Month yyyy format) followed by a full 
  • Name of Library/Archive/Institution followed by a comma.
  • Town/City where Institution based followed by a comma.

 

NB: Primary Sources should be listed, alphabetically, under a separate section of the Bibliography entitled Primary Sources.
